Listen Up 05:33
You know I hear you baby- Now listen up and take a seat! When I get to lovin' you baby, you know we sure can make some heat When I first met you darlin', I liked everyhting I could see. But what you're doin' behind the curtain, is really starting to worry me! Woman you got to quit your lyin'. I'd give you my love if love if you let me try. But if you keep on misbehavin' you'd better find some other guy Listen Up! Listen to me girl forget your sorrow, what you do today will make tomorrow, and you know that once you free your mind- the rest will follow! Alright y'all, a wise man once said, “aint nothin' good unless you play with it”,so excuse us while we play with it!

Work Song 04:32
The Stranger's Hand is commin' at you -LIVE(!) yet untelevised by the stations, with a groove revolution that knows no nations- no flag, creed, gender, or segregation of race. I'll take you to outer space with our cosmic flow- and like water, I come flowing down on you -with some funk kung-fu and I wanna hit it. So don't quit it, 'cause we' still got so far to go- and I know that life can be so hard when you hittin' the grind but I say “So what!” I've got no time to waste when the bass is thumpin' cause- EVERY DAY'S A HOLIDAY WHEN YOU FUNKIN' and I'm your white chocolate Santa- commin' atcha with a fat sack....o' toys so make some noise, cause your favorite boyz are in the house and got you moanin and shouting for joy. So get up, stand up, and raise your hands! We all are commin' around from across the land to chase the dirty old blues away, so feed your head, feel your heart, and get yo' ass to play! We' got the whole trifecta; gonna rock all three. You know tonight's the night; this place' the place to be, so don't play it cool, just kick it old school, a wop-bop-a-loo-op a-wop-bam-boo now let the vibes flow through. Tell you about three guys once who were just trying make some music and live out their dream. Sometimes they did time to time have sell some cream- you know, just enough to get through college and get enough knowledge to make it in this scene. But now just remember, when the yogart man was collecting, The Stranger's Hand was defecting!! “Hold on, we commin'- our guitar, keeps strummin' all night long, so keep bumpin' that song" and all night long that is what they did. Wasn't long before they had a hit, servin' it up with some main ingredients like: Blues, funk, rock & roll, some jazz, hip-hop, & (of course) soul, Oh and they struck Gold! (Some Accopulco Gold!) And it feels good like you knew it would. Yeah! Ooh and that brings us up to the present day! I believe the band's got something to say now. They've got somethin' in 'em- and its bound to come out! Hit it fellas! And now we're back, and ready for the final act, I sing work songs to stay strong and keep track of...time slippin away, But still I find the time to play, I'm playin' everything I know, And we sure do hope you like the show, I been' workin'....and workin.....and I still' got a terrible way to go (X4)

Yeah, I've been searchin- And for what I just don't know! Well it feels like I'm spinnin' while wearin' a blind fold! Down the road and through trees, Feel the warmth of the sun and the summer breeze. Standing there with the wind in my hair, let my heart run free and put my mind at ease. But the clouds move in on a chilly wind- takes the warmth of the sun and the light of day, And it aint too long 'fore a happy song can't hide the sound of a man in pain. Thinkin' about tomorrow, tryin to make it through today, but the weather's bringin' sorrow and forty days of rain, and the oceans getting' deeper and the waves begin to grow- but I aint got no paddle to get me back to shore! But when the North Star glows, and the moonshine flows, I'll raise my sails, and head for home! Yeah I've been searchin- And I think I know what for! Well it feels like I'm floating right over my clouds of woe- yeah.

Dusk 02:13
O' when the sky was glowing blue the golden hour came and changed it's hue and the waters burned with red and purple light and the Sun fade'd from sight The stars are falling through my hands- holding on to those beams of light. And my day changed to night All the colors fade to black and white (X3) Until tonight... When your eyes were glowing blue, your golden hair fell to light the room, and passions burned by red fire light. And my world was changed tonight

Lock and Key 04:04
You know we've got no one to blame- You can't blame the clouds for bringin' rain. But now it's pourin' our an babe I feel like I'm goin' insane- and Lord I feel the pain! Because the more I try to change, o' well the more I feel the same. Oh and it seems like the more I try to be free from you baby, the more I find myself in your chains. Since I met you I just can't sit still, cause you set my heart on a lovin' thrill! Oh I've been tryin' but there's no denying, that you've got me under lock and key... You know they say that it's a shame, they say we're just fools caught in the rain. The way I see it baby even if they're right, I couldn't help it if I tried, So come on baby hold my hand, because it seems like the more we try to fight it baby, the more we' in each other's chains.

Echo 06:09
A thousand drifting lights are burning in my mind, and I've got moving pictures in my soul, They're wrapped in silver and dressed in gold. These scenes of my life I see, are all locked up, and you're the key that's gonna make the dark nights seem less cold, when I think of the days of old, And I hear your voice again; sayin' “Here I am my friend- better hold on cause we're going in again” (again) and again I try to find the silver lining but I Keep getting my head caught in the clouds, oh its these clouds of woe- I've got to go! The journey's much too hard by myself. “Now don't you worry- I am with you till the end!” I hear your voice again; Say “Here I am my friend Better hold on cause we're going in again” (X2) Oh and I'm running all the time but I'm still not movin', I stop to catch my breath, n'then like a star your're shootin' Back into my heart -I start to hear you sing the songs we used to love (X2) But it's Nothing but echos in silence Still hear you singing in my head (X8) I've got to get back to something real, Don't you remember how it feels, cause pairs of footprints from the day, fall like castles to the waves, Oh and when I get to thinkin' I can't help but wishin' you were with me but now I see the world around me First was lost but now I'm found and maybe All I've known, was just fool's gold. A thousand distant lights will fade away with time, and it's getting harder to find my way, and I'm drifting further every day. and I'm casting stones on a sea of stars, and I'm hearing echos from a far na-na-na na na na-na-na-na na (X2)

When I was low down, out in the streets I broke my own heart to give you a piece, Oh but now I can tell, I was trapped by your spell, and that mojo don't work on me 'Cause I been near, I been far, I seen the light and I seen the dark, and you know there were sometimes I lost my way Oh but now I can see how sweet life can be, and I'm a'sing these old blues on away! I was feeling all alone, 'till I heard that saxophone playing loud enough to wake the dead. Sure 'nough I got to my feet, movin' to the funky beat with a message that got to my head O they were marchin' and a struttin' -burnin' up the block, I was runnin' toward nothin' till they made me stop, and they took me out of this strange land. Well all I needed was a stranger's hand! So everybody spread the news: We're blowin' hot and cool, and we're commin right to your town! I said I wantchya to get down! ('Cause I been near, I been far, I seen the light and I seen the dark, and you know there were sometimes I lost my way Oh but now I can see how sweet life can be, and I'm a'sing these old blues on away!)X4 Grat-doot-doo, Grat-doot-doo, Zoo-ba-doo-bap!

about

The culmination of years of composing, writing, and recording, Stranger's Hand's debut album spans nearly the entire 5 year history of the group. This diverse collection of tracks features the work of 15+ musicians from all over Eastern Massachusetts, and has finally been put together in one place.
Originally a high school funk band, Stranger's Hand's core members have stayed together and spent the last three years in the studio forging their own sound. The album's songs reflect the band's love for the great blues, soul, funk, folk, and rock music of the 20th century and are unified by a common spirit of exuberance.
Stranger's Hand is an independent album, and it's message is of independence. We have striven to create music which is free from any one style and whose only concern is to free the listener's funky mind. This release in many ways chronicles the musical and personal growth of the band members, with themes that reflect the wild journey we've traveled.
The wait is over. Its time to get down.
